Okay, I'm meeting Eric to collect the remaining parts for my build that were shipped to him. I realized that light-bikes.com is having a problem with their website so my build hasn't appeared on the listing yet.
I had a hard time mounting the saddle, but besides that, most of it will be really simple assembly work from here. I can even put the crankset on using an Allen key o_O; Time flies. Come to think of it, the first part of my build was the saddle! It must have felt like a funny and very distant dream then. And now 3 years later, it's really coming together.
Anyway, tuning that rear derailleur is epic fail.
I broke a screwdriver (and also the only one that fitted) while trying to take it apart for the final tuning effort. Fernando was with me since I thought it would be good to have his help. I'm not good with rear derailleurs and I heard the legends of extreme hand pain. But apparently the Campy rear derailleur is very different from Shimano and it wasn't very successful. In a last ditch effort to take it apart, I applied full strength and the screwdriver broke in a loud snap.
Fernando: It just chipped off like that? Damn! Made in China man...
Me: *laughing*
Fernando: Really what. Why are we born in Asia, man? All our tools are made in China! Just imagine you go to a hardware store in Germany...
Fernando + me: *pause* Holy shit.
Fernando: We* were born in the wrong country man...
*well, he's not technically correct, since he was born in Sri Lanka

But let's see, frankly, I'm still missing a few items after meeting Eric.
(1) wheelset
(2) stem
(3) chain
(4) headset
(5) misc. bolts
I'm starting to feel impatient and simply getting some simple parts to fill in for a while while I confirm my position on light-bikes.de with the picture of the full build. I also need that 200 grit sandpaper...
